The in-district transfer option is for a student who resides in the Anoka-Hennepin school district and wants to transfer to a different Anoka-Hennepin school from his or her regularly assigned school.
For example, if a Blaine High School student wants to attend Coon Rapids High School, the parent or guardian must request an in-district transfer.
Applications for the 2014-15 school year will be accepted Dec. 1, 2013 through Jan. 15, 2014. Applications need to be postmarked by Jan. 15, 2014.
Submitting an application does not guarantee enrollment in the school you have requested. An application for open enrollment or in-district transfer is approved provided that:
space is available under the cap set by the School Board
class size limits have not been reached
a student's discipline history does not exclude him or her from approval
Decisions are not made based on:
previous academic achievement
athletic or extracurricular ability
proficiency in English language
Spaces are capped at 1 percent per grade level for open enrollment and 1 percent per site for in-district transfer. If eligible applications exceed spaces available, spaces will be filled on a random basis (by lot).
